The ordinary is where ideology is lived, labor is performed and intimacy happens. The paintings I create are inspired by the ordinary. My interactions with life's quotidian moments, or routine happenings of life are what I attempt to capture through my paintings. These quiet gestures can be viewed as commonplace and small but I belience everyday moments operate as sinew, binding relationships through quiet, repeated acts. I use layered glazes with careful attention to light and transparency. I want to pause, reflect, and connect with life’s moments that surround us.
